As a female owned production company, Dangerous Curves Productions is working diligently to make 2020-2021 the year that they will continue to successfully make an impact in film with their library of documentaries and screenplays.
The Women Behind Dangerous Curves
Deborah Louise Ortiz and Lisa Edwards began their partnership after years in the theatre. They wanted to expand their creativity and produce, direct and perform original works for the stage in New York City. They later turned their focus and their passion for creating, to the world of film. Both women are award winning film makers who run every aspect of Dangerous Curves Productions, which has produced two award winning documentaries.
Deborah directed the award-winning documentary Code 9 Officer Needs Assistance which began an ongoing and successful movement as well as a nonprofit organization. The film takes an in depth look at the lives of the brave men and women who chose to follow their calling of becoming a First Responder. It addresses the impact of unresolved trauma, which they deal with on the job, for which all too often leads to PTSD and suicide due to the lack of training.
Lisa, directed the award-winning documentary Alfie Boe: On the Wheels of a Dream. This film is an intimate look at Britain’s most beloved tenor as he tries to cross over from the world of opera and musical theatre, to mainstream music and rock and roll. Lisa and her team documented Alfie's journey for 2 years as he tried to adapt to the challenges of this new world of mainstream music.
This documentary brilliantly showcases Alfie's tremendous musical range and his staggering musical talent. We feel the intense struggle, disappointment and stress, which exists even for an artist and performer of his caliber.
